Why ONLi is a Game-Changer in Battery Innovation

Edortech Ltd. was established in 2023 to implement the ONLi technology. Developed by the inventors with support from H-ION Ltd. and Bay Zoltan Ltd., ONLi is a new-generation anode and electrode manufacturing technology for Li-ion and Na-ion batteries. Resulting from 14 years of R&D, ONLi features a non-powder, metal-alloy-based anode layer that eliminates toxic binders and solvents, and delivers superior energy density and thermal/electrical performance compared to conventional graphite and Si-C anodes.

What Makes ONLi Different?

Unmatched Energy Density

• Volumetric energy density: Up to 1168 Wh/L (vs. 698 Wh/L for Tesla’s 2170 cell).
• Gravimetric energy density: 310 Wh/kg (vs. 274 Wh/kg).
• Cell capacity: Increased from 5.0 Ah to 7.8 Ah in the same 2170 cell format.

No Binder, No Powder

• The ONLi anode is a solid, continuous metal alloy layer, eliminating toxic binders and solvents.
• Direct diffusion adhesion onto the copper substrate — no delamination, no drying, no powder compaction.

Superior Conductivity

• Electrical and thermal conductivity are orders of magnitude better than powder-based electrodes due to the fully metallic, homogenous structure.

Thin, Efficient Layer

• Active material layer thickness is only 6–20 µm, versus 110–250 µm for conventional graphite-based anodes.

Safe Against Lithium Plating

• Electrochemical profile is higher than Li deposition potential, improving fast-charging safety.

Ready For Adaption Into Existing Production Lines

• Designed for roll-to-roll manufacturing and fully compatible with existing Li-ion cell production lines — meaning faster and more cost-effective scalability.
